Important information about your appointment

Do not drive

Please ensure you do NOT drive yourself to the appointment as the drops we use to dilate your pupils may last for several hours so you cannot drive home.

Contact lenses

If you are a contact lens wearer, please ensure you do NOT wear your lenses on the day that you attend your appointment.

About your appointment

Once you have booked your appointment, we will send you an appointment confirmation by text message, email or letter. 

If you have travel problems or are not able to attend at the last minute, you can call us on 0203 7807860, so we can offer your appointment to someone in need of an emergency appointment.

During your visit you will be with the clinical team for between 40 and 50 minutes. Your appointment will include a range of tests to help with the diagnosis and planning of any treatment that may be required.

What you need to bring

A copy of any prescription medicines given to you by a doctor

Any packets of home remedies or medicines, creams or ointments you have been using.

Your current reading and driving glasses and a copy of your glasses prescription if you have one. 

What if I need help or support?

Please let us know if you require a chaperone, have dementia or a learning disability, require communications in a different format such as braille or pictorially or have any other special requirements.

We can assist and advise you and this is best done as far in advance of your appointment as possible.
